House Warming Gift

14 years ago we were given a wonderful house warming gift and during that time it has been moved to a different house and within that house it had several homes.  It got so big that it had to be transplanted and it flourished for years.  Sadly though after coming home from holidays I noticed that it wasn't flourishing anymore in fact it was kind of  sparse!  I do not think there is a way to nurse it back to shape...not to mention that at least 2 of the other plants that used to reside with it are now gone.

I was thinking of a boston fern to replace it with.  I just need to  do some research into that and see if it is safe for Belle.

We had a good run!

Happy Anniversary!

Today we celebrated 15 years of married life.  Wow where has the time gone?!  It seems like yesterday that we were getting married....I can still remember the day....it was very hot and near hurricane level winds prevailed.

Here's to another 15 years!

Here are 15 reasons why I love the Rhino:

1) He loves me and puts up with my quirks.
2) He is a great Dad.
3) Always willing to try new things.
4) Also has energy after work to do things with the Princesses.
5) Goes to work every single day and never misses a day.
6) Can be the voice of calm to my craziness.
7) Has a good sense of direction and does all the driving on our vacations.
8) Cooks a great breakfast.
9) Only gets a little annoyed with my painting projects.
10) Never minds eating left overs.
11) Takes great photos.
12) Is very handy at fixing things around the house.
13) Is very patient with the Princesses.
14) Solves all of our technical issues.
15) Allows me to stay at home with our Princesses.

Junk Salvation

While on holidays there was something that I really really wanted to do.....and it was to go to a Junk Salvation sale.  We headed out and totally missed the turn and then after realizing we went too far, we stopped to ask for directions and then headed back.  I was ready to throw the towel in but Rhino persisted!  Thank you Rhino for not giving up!  We went to the sale and it was so neat to see.  At home we just don't have opportunities to attend these vintage markets/sales.  I was so amazed at all the talent that was out there.  The furniture prices were so amazing but I knew that as much as I liked all the dressers, chairs, and coffee tables that we just didn't have the room to take anything home.  Such a sad day for me! But again the prices are so reasonable. We did find lots of treasures and I really enjoyed myself.  Once I get more settled I show you what I got.

At the entrance to the sale were some vintage campers and they were nothing but sweet and incredible!

Here is some eye candy...inside the vintage campers.  The red one was my favorite....

Notice the cupcakes that the Princesses are carrying around?!  They were so good...they had some samples out our family may or may not have had a few samples!!

Ball Game

Last week we went to a minor baseball game and we had so much fun.  The weather was perfect the company was grand and the game was great.

We sat right in front of the visiting teams bull pen and I thought that was so neat.  We were able to watch the pitchers warm up and boy can they pitch!  After one pitcher finished his warm up he gave Rhino the ball who had a feeling that we would get a ball. That was very neat however 1 ball and 2 kids causes some hard feelings!  In the end though it all worked out this was the solution - one Princess ended up with the ball and the other got a magazine!  It was a winner and it worked!

The summer seems like it has flown by and before we know it school will be starting again...and visits to the pool will be a distant memory.

Dragonfly

While going bike riding one morning Princess Belle noticed a dragonfly on her bike...it was so pretty.

The best thing was it stayed on her bike for a good block until it flew off.  How neat is that.  Pictures taken by the Princess herself.

Neighbourhood Watch

While visiting our friends  we got to explore their neighbourhood a little bit.  It was so nice every home was drool worthy for one reason or another.  Here are some pictures to show what I mean.

Look at how the brick has weathered to almost white..but they need to clean up the yard just a bit!

What curb appeal....

How cool would this be on your street....the old tracks for a cable car...

Sorry for the blur..could you imagine sitting in the room to the far right and just enjoying the view...

Finally if we were lucky enough to have a house here it would have to be on this street....

If this were my neighbourhood I would be out everyday walking and admiring these grand homes. The neighbours would also think I was a stalker because I would bring my camera too!  Seriously every time we passed another house I was like look at this one, see how great that it, how nice is that!

Baby Love

We had the wonderful opportunity to meet our friends newborn baby.  He is just a cutie and was a perfect baby while we were there. It was such a nice afternoon.  Just look at how cute he is....

And look how happy the proud parents are!

He was so tiny and cute and as your kids get older you forget that they were this small at one time too!

Fore!

We had the opportunity to take the Princesses golfing...they got to use their new clubs so they were excited.  It has been years since I have golfed so I was a bit nervous.  We did a twilight special and for the longest time we were alone on the course.  It was awesome. Especially that no one was watching just in case I made a fool of myself.

Everything was going along just fine and everyone was making some good hits. We were all having a great time.  But some people were catching up to us so we decided we would skip a hole and put some distance between us.

Rhino wanted me to drive the cart up (Mom this is the part that you should skip over) to him and  because I have 2 Princesses that wanted to drive the cart I was leaning over to steer.  I did a quick turn and before I knew it I had lost one of my riders!  Miss Cinderella had been tossed from the cart and I am so embarrassed to admit this but I didn't even know!  Rhino was yelling at me so I quickly drove back to her - she was NOT hurt but perhaps a little stunned.  I felt so horrible and I still do however like my Mother when something happens I occasionally get the giggles.  Well I got the giggles - I know that is a totally inappropriate reaction but hey what can I do.  Honestly she is all good....see....

Again I was so glad the no one saw this swift move!
